Robert De Niro is going to bat for Meryl Streep after her tirade against Trump during the Golden Globes. Because, of course he is. De Niro, who at one time played big screen characters who have guts, has found himself living out the real life character of a sap in recent years.
De Niro’s letter:
What you said was great. It needed to be said, and you said it beautifully. I have so much respect for you that you did it while the world was celebrating your achievements. I share your sentiments about punks and bullies. Enough is enough. You, with your elegance and intelligence, have a powerful voice – one that inspires others to speak up as they should so their voices will be heard too. It is so important that we ALL speak up.
We love you.

During the election, De Niro put out a threatening video towards Trump talking about “punching him.” Prior to that, his famous film festival allowed an anti-vaccine movie to be slotted in only to have it removed when liberal media put pressure on him. Essentially, De Niro has become a gutless version of his old tough characters.
Streep’s inappropriate and inaccurate comments have come under fire by many, including UFC President Dana White, who took exception to Streep disavowing MMA and NFL as “arts.”

De Niro should take a note from White.
